A MESSAGE FROM FATHER COREY

Dear Brothers & Sisters in the Fire Service,

Allow me to introduce myself as Father Corey Van Kuren. I am a chaplain to the Binghamton, New York fire department and happy to serve as a board member of The Retired Professional Fire Fighters Cancer Fund.

I wanted to write to you and say how proud I am to be part of such a profession. My association with fire fighters is my most cherished gift , along with my ordination into the priesthood. The invitation to be part of this additional effort to aid our Brothers & Sisters in the fire service is also most important to me. It is one thing, a great thing, to support each other on the job. It is such a great thing also, to continue to serve one another as we battle those illnesses that come to us because of our work in the fire service.

Others on this web page and in our organization can tell you statistics and facts about how you and your fellow firefighters are more suseptible to cancers and other illnesses because of your work. I am telling you, that through The Retired Professional Fire Fighters Cancer Fund we can aid each other and support each other through many venues to alleviate suffering.

Through hard work, involving advocacy, fund raising, information dissemination, legislative involvement and many other activities with governments, hospitals, health care facilities and firefighter organizations, working together we can address and alleviate pain and suffering that is unnecessary.

Thanks for taking a few moments of your time to learn more about The Retired Professional Fire Fighters Cancer Fund and our mission. I pray that you and you loved ones will join us in this important work.

Be assured of my continued prayers for all of you, for your safety and prosperity in a great profession.

God Bless All Of You!

Father Corey S. Van Kuren
